Well it was a good thing because I probably could have even had the next size up from that. the back strap is that of a bra with a piece of fabic that slides over the hooks. I couldn't see that in the pictures.

The fit was just too narrow and non-supportive for me. I ordered both the medium and the large to compare and neither one fit right.
