    I wear size 12.5 medium width shoes and the sox are marked "XL fits shoe size 12-16". The sox are so small I could not pull them on over the front of my foot at first. Even after a day's wear they haven't stretched and are tight everywhere, and really are too short to be called mid calf. Other than that they are well made, with excellent soft wool, with extra thickness in the toe, heel and instep.

    I have never owned a pair of socks this comfortable, and that fit so well. I recently fell and broke my shoulder. Along with my new shoes with vibram soles, these socks give me a new sense of balance when I walk.
