5.0 out of 5 stars. So far, these boots are fantasticVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Carolina on Tuesday, February 9, 2016I got these boots to replace my Merrells, which are falling apart after 3.5 years. My Merrells were good shoes, but so far, these Chacos are surpassing them despite the lower price. I have put them to the test hiking in very wet/muddy conditions. My feet remained perfectly dry, and the soles gripped slick rocks with ease. The insole supports my foot with great arch support. Unlike my Merrells, which were lacking support to the point I had to buy alternate insoles. Not very breathable, but that's to be expected from a shoe that is actually waterproof. I have yet to put serious mileage on them, but I expect them to handle longer backpacking trips well.

3.0 out of 5 stars. nice boot but no cigarVerified Buyer Reviewed by Everyday Stuff from Evanston on Monday, January 18, 2016I liked everything about these boots, except that the arch in the sole was in the wrong place and dug into my arch at the wrong spot. Very uncomfortable, and after wearing in the house, decided I could not get used to it and sent the back.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Not very comfortableReviewed by Sunshine from Northern Virginia on Tuesday, January 5, 2016It was disappointing to experience these boots were rather uncomfortable around the ankle. Not well padded in that area and the tongue is too small and barely covers the eyelet attachment which dug into my ankles. Walked around the house for several days, but it kept hurting.....back they went. Otherwise good boot, rather sneaker-like feel, but sturdy and heavier, comfy insole. I also would buy 1/2 size larger, as they run a bit narrow and tight, even the length felt true to size, but then I did not hike downhill with them ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these bootsReviewed by Carrie from Colorado on Sunday, January 3, 2016I've worn these on several 4-5 hr hikes and have not gotten a single blister - even when they were right out of the box. Very comfortable. Feet stay dry - completely waterproof. I like that I can unlace the eyelets to give my ankle a little more flexibility and they still stay on my foot well. Great traction in ice and snow. Maybe a little on the heavy side.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Didn't FitReviewed by Anonymous from North Carolina on Wednesday, December 9, 2015I really wanted to like these boots. They had fantastic reviews and everyone said they were comfortable. However, when I received them, they were too small. I usually wear a 7.5 and I ordered an 8. They were VERY tight in the toe area. I couldn't wear them. I would have loved to exchange them for my proper size, but the size isn't available anymore. I wish it had said in the description somewhere that they were REALLY narrow.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Runs NarrowReviewed by Straubrey from Connecticut on Friday, November 20, 2015I have 3 pairs of Chaco boots in various styles, all size 7, and all fit. This pair in size 7 is much too narrow in the toe box. If you have wider than normal feet, I would pick a different style or try a half size up. The support in them is very good, typical Chaco, and if they fit I imagine they would be very comfortable boots with minimal break in required.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Note to self - never buy shoes online...Reviewed by No from New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 10, 2015For the past few years, I've been going to a local shoe store to be professionally fitted for all of my shoes (running shoes, daily sneakers, & light-weight hikers). It costs twice as much as STP, so I tried to save a little money when I needed some mid-weight hikers. Bad idea, I really should know better. These are, without a doubt, the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn! Right out of the box, it was like wearing concrete boots. I couldn't even bear wearing them on our flat floor in the house for more than a few minutes, I can't IMAGINE wearing these on an 8 mile hike with 2000'+ elevation gain!! I will still buy "everything" else on STP, but I'll happily pay twice as much on shoes to be professionally fitted, always. No more online shoe purchases for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great boots!!Reviewed by Anonymous from Michigan on Monday, November 9, 2015These boots not only keep my feet dry (walked through water & snow) and they have the best arch support I've ever felt!! I've had these boots a few months and have worn them dozens of times. They grip well on rocks and are not slippery. I've learned that you need to have them snug as the laces do loosen some but please don't let that prevent you from buying these!! You won't be disappointed! I'm going to try this snowshoeing this winter with my merino wool socks!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Chaco Azula Mid Hiking BootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Montana on Tuesday, October 6, 2015These boots are awesome ! I am an avid hiker and live near Glacier park in Montana. With weather changes that can happen in an instant... from sun to snow or rain,....I want my feet to be dry and protected ! They are very comfortable and I was able to hike 5 miles with them right out of the box. I have had issues with plantar fasciitis and these boots feel so cush on my feet.(-: and just roll over gravel and sharp rocks.
I am going to bring them to Alaska next week and expect wet conditions....so I will see how they hold up for water proofing ! -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for campingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Dakota on Monday, October 5, 2015I have a pair of Chaco sandals I've loved for a few years, so wanted to give these boots a shot. I'm in love. They're so comfortable, have great support, and are perfect for outdoor terrain of all kinds. Just like other Chaco wear, they lend a lot of support without feeling heavy. And they say waterproof and mean it - my feet stayed warm and dry, even through the dewy and wet Minnesota/North Dakota terrain and autumn we have. Definitely recommend these!
