I had hopes these were "the ones". The perfect hybrid of work boot functionality, cute cowboy boot style, & comfort walking shoe. No such luck. As other reviewers said, the fit is really awkward at best. Too loose in toe area, too tight across the top of foot, and back to too loose in heel. I could live with all but the heel. I even went to a cobbler to see if there was any fix for keeping my heel from slipping so badly. I was so determined to make them work. Back in the mail they go. I've wasted enough time trying to "make it work", when clearly, we just weren't meant to be.

These were the most painful shoes I have EVER worn in my life. I wore them around my house for a while to try and get used to them because I thought they were really cute, but the arch is really high, and not placed well for my foot. I often wear Birkenstock or earthshoe, so I am used to an arch in my shoe, but these were too much. My heel came up with each step so I felt like a clumping horse, There is no zipper, so they were very very hard to get on. I gave them two stars only based on looks. They get a zero for comfort. I'll stick with earthshoe. Maybe if you wear Chaco regularly they would work for you.

Chacos are the only shoes that I can wear and my feet not hurt by the end of the day. However I need a wide. I miss the old sandals. Good thing I still have one pair! I were a 7 in sandals and I have a 7.5 in a zip up winter boot. I bought this Credence boot in 7.5 and I did not have any room in the sides. I exchanged for an 8, it was too long and still a bit narrow. The leather may have stretched, but the footbed was still a little tighter than I like. I liked the look and really hoped I could find a right fit. Maybe next time!

I love love love my Chaco sandals in the summertime and was excited to see fairly "cute" boots for colder weather. These boots are extremely hard to get on and off. They lack a gusset or zipper, so it takes a bit of effort to insert my foot. I have found pulling on the loops at the top of the boot helps me get 'em on. Once my foot is in the boot, they feel great. Perfect arch support, just like my sandals! Very very supportive for hours of wear.

I love the look of these boots and so wish they fit I ordered a pair in December size 8 1/2) right foot did not fit, returned boots for for a size 9 left foot did not fit return boots for size 8 1/2 again, this time neither foot fit, so sad really would've liked to have a pair of these boots.
The boot top measures about 14 1/2 to 15. Hope this helps.

I don't know the circumference, but they sit mid calf on me,(I am 5'3'') and I have really wide calves and the they work fine. Most boots don't work for me because of the wide calves.

I sent mine back but they didn't seem particularly wide.

They should be fine, mine are 15in at the widest part and the fit closely, especially with jeans/ pants tucked in, but the boots aren't tall enough (at least on me) to hit the widest part of my calf. I think they are 14in circumference and come up to right below the widest part of my calves.

I am not able to help you. I wear a size 7.5 and I ordered the 7.5 and the fit is great! I have a narrow foot... if you plan to wear a heavy sock, probably order up? I wear a cotton ankle sock over my tights so my foot doesn't slip and I wear a light-weight knee high ski sock with this boot
