Funny enough, I have Chaco flip flops and the strappy Teva looking shoes and I don't like either pair.
My son has had several pair and loves them.
I decided the boots would be my last ditch effort to embrace Chacos. They certainly feel different, sort of like soft Birkenstocks under your feet. The pressure seems to be off of the front of your foot and more on the heal...regardless, Chaco has been redeemed with me :)
I love the look of these boots and wear a brown Born Benara and wanted a black, attractive walking boot. I also prefer a plain looking boot. I have chunky calves and am always worried about the calf circumference. These boots are very well made, they feel sturdy, a bit heavier than my Borns but I'm not complaining.
They fit better than expected! I ordered down a half size. I could have gone down a size but I like my boots with foot room.
They slip right on and have loops on each side that are purposeful. A bit snug around the calf, but the leather is the type that will easily stretch. I didn't find any other part of the boot snug. I did however, notice that they are certainly boots you have to break in as with most leather boots. I wear them for short trips or around the house and soon enough I am sure they will mold the way I need them to.
If you like a sturdy, rugged-ish appearance, these I think are going to be great for an everyday boot. I live in Michigan and they will get lots of use :)
