I love the way they help keep my whole body in line. My hips don't hurt anymore, my knee pain is minimal now. The only negative is that I have to wear a pair of socks with these to keep them on my feet because of the strap is not ajustable.

I love my 8.5 Chaco sandles and wear them all summer long. So I was excited to see the sling back shoes. I am now comfortably wearing a 7.5! The 8.5 was HUGE on me and I have wide feet, much the same shape as Chacos!

The Chaco Devotee Shoe feels amazing and it is versatile!
I can't wait to wear these canoeing or kayaking because there is a good sole on the bottom and it will easily dry when wet because of the material used.

got an unbelievably good deal on this pair, not sure what all the fuss is about. I ordered a half size down a six and a half, (I can wear a 6.5 in certain shoes typically European) and they fit great. I actually have to push my foot in a little deep and then get my heel into the strap and my foot slides back and they fit wonderfully. a special thank you to the online assistant/chat I freaked out about the size after reading all the reviews and had placed the order on sunday I was able to both email and use the chat feature to change my order twice before it was shipped. this is my first time with the Vibram so they're a little heavier then what I'm used to with Chaco but I'm super pleased with the fit.

Unfortunately, these didn't work at all for me. I normally wear size 10 in Chacos but ordered 9.5 instead based on what other reviewers said about the strap in back not being elastic. Well, the pair I got must have been mis-sized because they were absolutely enormous. Even with socks, I walked right out of them. So back they went...
If you look at the ENLARGED view of the shoe you will see exactly how much the heel is raised. This shoe has a very pronounced arch support. It is extremely comfortable. Good luck !

They are not flat, that is a fact. The arch is raised and so is the heel. However, the arch is much higher than the heel. It is a very unusual design and feel. I, too need a raised heel and as much support as I can get for a leg problem. It is a shoe I can wear all day. It's bed reminds me a bit of a Birkenstock, but it is much more comfortable to wear, in my opinion. My sister has plantar fascitis and it was she who recommended this brand to me.

I had the closed end version of these and there is a slight rise in the back. Probably about 1/4 inch more than the front. Exactly the same footbed as the sandal.
