Information about Chaco Flip EcoTread Thong Sandals - Flip-Flops, Recycled Materials (For Men)
Closeouts. If foot-slapping sandals make you flip out, lose the "flop" through the ingenuity of Chaco's Flip EcoTread thong sandals, which remove the flopping effect by seating the upper straps back under the midfoot of the anatomical LUVSEAT footbed.
Fixed nylon straps anchor under midfoot to eliminate "flop"

I like these because the sole is lighter than other ecotread flip flops. I love chacos because they hold up well, but some of the soles are too heavy to be comfortable on a flip flop. These are a bit lighter and still feel durable.

Seven years ago when I bought my first pair of Chaco Flips, I was very skeptical about $55 flip flops. After 7 years of HARD use I can say they live up to the hype. As far as comfort goes these are excellent. Many folks (including outdoor gear lab) favor OluKai for pure comfort and I wouldn't argue that, but these are still very comfortable. I have an average arch and wide feet but I was very happy with the regular width. I have a high-volume foot and the straps were snug for first few days in these, but they broke in and stretched out a little. I have used these for traveling and found that they were great for walking around all day. I also found that they are supportive and grippy enough for me to do some hiking in them too. In fact all summer long I'd use these to approach rock climbs as well - scrambling through talus fields and up and down steep trails with a heavy pack! And as to durability, I think I started to notice the straps beginning to fray after the first 2 years of use, but it took another 5 before they finally ripped through. I truly punished these things and I sincerely doubt that any other flops could outlast these under the same conditions.

This is my second pair of Chaco Flip thong Sandals that I have purchased and I love them. They last a long time with wear almost every day in the summer months, and arch support is helpful for all the multiple foot problems I have. I always go with the men's size for this particular product because of the wide foot I have. I wear a size 8 and a half in women so the size 7 men seems to work fine.

I have never cared for flip-flops due to the lack of support and the uncomfortable material between my toes. I have to save I am pleasantly surprised that the Chaco Flip's feel great. I will be trying them out on a 10 day trip to Costa Rica. My first impression is good. I have the Z1 Unaweeps and love them. The only problem with the Z1's is they take more effort to put on and take off on the beach or around the pool. The Flips feel like the Z1's little brother.
