2.0 out of 5 stars. Hole in the side almost instantlyReviewed by Anonymous from Georgia on Friday, March 20, 2015I bought these to hike the AT. They got holes in the sides (on both sides of the right boot at the yellow arch just behind the toes) after only about a month of break-in wear. This was VERY light usage, like, indoors and brief, dry, walks around the neighborhood. Too bad, because they're comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars. comfortable bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Fred from Maine on Monday, March 16, 2015I haven't worn these on a hike yet, but very comfortable to wear around. They are a nice lightweight boot and certainly good for everyday wear, but the jury is still out on durability and comfort on the trail. Sizing seems just right for my foot, enough toe room without being loose in the heel.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice boots, but too small.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Illinois on Friday, March 13, 2015These boots are at least 1/2 to maybe a full size too small for their listed size. The price is good, and they seem to be well constructed boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Chaco Hinterland Mid Mesh Hiking Boots (For Men)Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Spokane, WA on Sunday, March 8, 2015I love these boots! I've never owned hiking boots before, because I cannot stand them on my skinny ankle bones. These boots were so comfortable right out of the box. No break-in needed, which is shocking, since I'm a female and wear a size 13N. Impossible in a women's boot, so I took a shot in the dark and ordered an 11.5 Men's Chaco. Unbelievable. I've worn them on wet, muddy hikes and was the only one with dry socks (they're not even waterproof). I just did a 7.5 mile 3000' elevation (HUGE for me) hike. My feet love Chaco, and I love STP's price and customer service.

4.0 out of 5 stars. nice bootReviewed by Lamont Cranston from Northern CA. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014I found it to be well made, with a wide toe box (which I prefer), good support, good lacing options, pull on loop at heel. Those are all positives for me. The one negative, so far, has been the sole's tendency to slip on some surfaces when wet. The boot slipped very easily, indoors, when coming in from the rain. Slipped on wood, tile, linoleum and smooth concrete floors.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight, comfortable, breathableVerified Buyer Reviewed by ToolNut from Massachusetts on Tuesday, October 14, 2014Having had a good experience with Chaco sandals, I just purchased these to replace my last pair of non-Gore-Tex Vasque Breeze hiking shoes. The Chaco Hinterland appears to be a worthy successor. Very lightweight and comfortable boot with lots of room in the toe box. Sizing appears accurate. They also seem well made, but of course, time will tell. Very comfortable for daily use. Sierra Trading Post has an amazing price for this shoe, if you grab a pair during one of their sales.
