5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Shoes

Very happy with these water shoes by Chaco. I do suggest you order 1/2 size larger than normal shoe size. I have a different pair of Chaco water shoes that have a vibram sole and I wear size 11. I had to order 11 1/2 in these for a similar fit but that's ok, these Evo 1's are better shoes, I can wear these barefoot or with a thin pair of socks. Thanks STP for a great price.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Poor design and function

Wore these twice. Laces broke, can't return, completely useless. Slippery on rock. NOT river shoes.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Nice shoes, BUT broken laces!

The body of the shoe is very nice, and seems to be well constructed. However, the laces break rather quickly. First pair my husband used for a week for a canoe trip, and the lace on one shoe broke the next week. Customer service was great and quickly sent a replacement pair. The lace on one of those shoes broke on first use! The lace on the other of that pair broke within a week. Must be bad design on the laces. Customer service again was great and gave us a refund right away.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Everything perfect, except laces.

I absolutely love these shoes. They do run small!! I haven't come across a Chaco that doesn't. I wear a women's size 8, and a 7 in men sizes always work best for me. Plus, you don't have to wear pink or purple :/ UGH!!!!!!!!!
If you are a women your best bet with all Chacos, especially trail/water shoes, is to go up a whole size up.

The only problem is the shoe lace broke the third time I wore them. You cant replace them either. Each shoe comes with two separate laces that are glued to the front of the shoe, and then they each run up to the to the tightening mechanism. We used an industrial adhesive and so far so good. If it doesn't work however, I will have to return.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. seem brittle

I had hoped the shoes would be sturdier, but they are flexible, lightweight, and seem brittle

From the incredible, arch-supporting footbed to the totally unique strap configuration, Chaco sandals fit like a glove and provide amazing support. Originally created by Mark Paigen in 1989, Chaco sandals have since evolved from a single pair of “Ultimate Sport Sandals” into an array of adventure-ready footwear products, including Chaco boots, sneakers and even clogs. Plus, to reduce waste and help loyal Chaconians get more miles out of their favorite kicks, this brand has even introduced the ReChaco Project, which allows customers to send in their worn or damaged sandals to be repaired.
