These chacos are lighter than other models I have owned. They are still comfy and perform well. They did take a while to break in.

These are special because they are made specifically for the water. Major difference is the where the straps are connected on the inner foot, the connecting piece is kinda rubbery.

As a rafting family chacos have always been the shoe of choice except my son would never wear them, stating the arch was uncomfortable. These chacos have a longer arch and they are lighter weight and he loves them. He even wears them on snowy days since they are now his favorite shoes!

The attachment points for the straps at the back of the sandal are too close together and dig into my heal. I do not have a wide foot.so I'm guessing I'm not the only one who willo have this problem. Otherwise a great product.

Bought these a week before I went to Peru for two weeks and I am so glad I did. They got there use out of them and they held up great. They are comfortable and they look good so you can where them just about anywhere. I used them for walking in the jungle and going to nice restaurants, defiantly a great purchase for anyone that likes being outdoors.

I was a bit worried about this model because of some reviews which said the rigid attachment points dug into peoples' ankle bones. Fortunately that did not apply in my case (size 9 wide). And I like that the contour of the heel beds holds my heels firmly in place. I also appreciate the lighter weight compared to the regular Chacos.

I'm a longtime Chaco fan since my brief stint as a river guide on the Rio Grande many years ago. I lived in my Unaweep Z/2s so much that I had tan lines when I took em off. I also have a pair of Z/1s that I wear for less strenuous activities. Love 'em both. These new Updrafts have that ergonomic Chaco stick-to-your-foot feel, but are lighter and more cushy-comfy--- and easier to adjust--- than the Unaweeps. And yes: a bit more elegant looking, less chunky. I have not experienced any problem with chaffing on the strap posts like some have; I suspect it depends on your foot shape in relation to the sandal. And yes: they do squeak. If you're looking for ninja sandals, these probably aren't the ones. Otherwise, highly recommended.
