I have worn Chacos for years. Love the adjustability and the arch support, the vibram soles and the aesthetics.
However, this design has a potential problem, as was pointed out by someone else in a review somewhere --- the heel-strap - ankle strap section is anchored to the sole by plastic (rubber?) pieces, not pieces of nylon webbing as with my other 2 pairs of Chacos. Since I have a slight fatty bulge on the inside of each foot near the ankle (both feet were very pronated before they met hatha yoga), it rubs on the plastic protuberance when I walk.
So far, I have only worn these Chacos with socks, for walking short to medium distances, for fear of getting a major blister. I will try them without socks when the weather finally warms up. And there is a possibility I will have to return them.
