I don't know why I keep buying shoes on line because they rarely fit, but I am so excited to finally get lucky with these great shoes! I have feet that I call duck feet: wide in the front, narrow at the heel. These shoes have plenty of room in the toe box yet are still snug enough at the heel that...

Took my mind off my feet. The first time I had them on, I had no thought for my feet at all. It wasn't until I took them off that I realized that I hadn't had any discomfort. Soft, cushy with arch support--just what I needed. Good color too!

A few months ago I twisted my ankle very badly and had a hard time finding shoes that either fit well with an ankle brace or were supportive enough to wear without one. I finally gave away my Danskos and all of my other shoes that encouraged my feet to roll outwards and perpetuate the injury (my ankles twist easily in general). I was also tired of not being able to go out walking so that I could get back into shape and rebuild and strengthen all of the muscles connected to my injury.
After looking through almost all of the hiking/walking shoes on STP, reading many reviews, I settled on the Chaco Vade Bulloo, especially because I love my Chaco sandles and their high arch support. I have to wear custom orthodics, and it's nice to sometimes wear a shoes that are already supportive because the height of my orthodics make the heel of lower cut shoes fit even lower than they should.
What I love about these shoes, asides from the high-comfort level and arch support, is the wider, slightly-flared heel on the outsole and the wider toe box. The heel really gives the extra support to keep my ankles from twisting and the wider toe box allows me to stretch my toes. I'm also working on realigning my toes with the YogaToes stretcher, as my little toe has curled under and slimmer cut shoes encourage it to stay that way. I have narrow feet so the shoe initially felt a bit bulky and wide as other reviews described, however the laces allow for a secure fit and I've already been out on quite a few long walks with these without problem.

I've never worn Chacos before, but the bright blue Vade Bulloos jumped out at me in a STP catalog, and the other reviews convinced me to try a pair. I wear a 9.5 in athletic shoes, but a 9 is perfect in these. I have narrow feet and wear rigid orthotics, and a lot of shoes just don't fit me well. The Vade Bulloos were comfortable right out of the box, so I wore them on a weekend trip to see relatives, and they just kept on feeling great around the house, on walks, and while driving. By the end of the weekend, my stepmom had ordered a pair for herself. Definitely not too heavy, great Vibram soles, come with a second pair of shoelaces in seafoam green (pale gray is the other color with the blue shoes), well cushioned, supportive, attractive ... what more good things can I say? Oh yes, an excellent price through Sierra Trading Post!

These shoes are very comfortable. I have a pair of sandals that I love and feel the shoes will be the same. Chacos were recommended by chiropractor for a nerve problem in my foot and they seem to help relieve the pain.
