I waited a long time to try these (a former Keen/Birkinstock costomer). Nothing else out there offers the support, comfort and durability of Chacos. Great product.

I've never had Chacos, because they can be pretty expensive. I feel I gotta good deal straight from the Sierra Trading Post website. They seem to be quite well made and comfortable. I like to wear mine tight and the straps hang too long. I supposedly can mail them in to have Chaco shorten them for me. I maybe should do that. They seem thick, kinda heavy, and comfortable. I would not suggest running around in any sandals if they are wet. If your sandals are wet and you are walking around in anything other than water you're feet will probably get tore up. After you walk through the water take em off and let them dry in the sun while you are barefoot.

This review is for the Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal. These are the older style Chacos, big, bulky and heavy -the newer designs are thinner and lighter. The front 3 straps are 1 continuous strap, totally adjustable.
I have worn these on several 4 mile hikes on steep, rocky, wet terrain. They are waterproof, and have heavy cushioning and lots of space between the toes and the front of the shoe. So my toes didn't get bruised. And they are easy to take off in an instance to remove unwanted pebbles.
Size wise, I order one size down, as they run very large both in length and width. For a Saucony Stabil CS3 running shoe I order size 8.5 EE for a perfect fit. For these Chaco sandals, I order size 7 normal width for a perfect fit.

These are my first pair of Chacos, and I am hooked! These feel so good on my feet! The support these sandals provide is amazing. They feel great walking across campus. Most sandals don't provide good support, but these do. I look forward to biking, hiking, and canoeing this summer with these great Chacos!

The sandals are a bit heavy and don't give me a secure feeling in the front. They feel like they are about to fall off. The straps can get uncomfortable after being worn for long periods of time. This is not a comfortable sandal. The straps should be a little wider and there should be some sort of strap by the toes so that it doesn't feel like the sandal will slip off. They are fine to wear to the beach for a few hours but nothing more.
