Never worn Chacos or sandals for hiking, but needed some 'water shoes' for hiking through water to reach waterfalls in Tanzania, Africa. I simply love the chaco z/1 unaweep sandals so much I bought two pair in size 10 wide for women. I also have a pair of chaco z/1 sandals in size 10 that is not a wide sandal, and I have learned the wider sandal for women makes all the difference - for me.

I am a big Chaco fan, but usually wear the ones with the toe loop. However, I wanted something that I could wear with socks when need be (goofy I know, but sometimes you just need to). I like these pretty well, but the ones with the toe loop hold to your foot better. I am a size 10 and the sandal seems a tiny bit on the large side. I am sort of tripped by the sandal because the top of my foot lifts up, but the sole doesn't follow. As others have noted, the strap where you close it is a bit too long.

Bought these to replace my old Chacos that were probably ten years old or more. I didn't think it was possible, but these are even better. They feel a bit lighter-weight and like they have a tad more cushion to them but still super sturdy and sticky on slippery surfaces. Have worn them every day since they arrived. I was a little hesitant to order online without having tried on a size 8. I had no idea what size my old ones were, and since my foot is right on the borderline of being too large for an 8, I had a hard time deciding since there are no half sizes. It turned out an 8 was perfect. Wheee!

Attractive and comfortable sandal. Good traction. Much easier to adjust these straps than the toe strap Chacos. I do still wish these came in half sizes; I generally wear an 8.5. Got these in an 8. They fit, but the arch support doesn't line up as well as I'd like.
