There is a bit of a learning curve at first with correctly adjusting the fit on your feet, but once you understand that they're some of the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned! I have plantar fasciitis and it is important for me to have proper support in all of my shoes.
Luckily the color I got (orange) was not as starkly plaid as it appears in the photos. It's actually a very cute and versatile summer color. -

I own several pairs of Chacos and the ones with thin straps are my favorite. They are easier to adjust than the ones with thick straps. Unfortunately it's very hard to tell from the on line pictures if the soles are black or brown. I wanted black and these are brown so I returned them.

But thanks to Sierra, she is getting a pair for Christmas at a price that I can afford. She is going to be thrilled, and I am thrilled that my credit card didn't take a huge hit on this particular present. They are well made and constructed and she should get years worth of use out of them.

They are super cute and have very good arch support. Take some getting used to because the straps are continuous through the sole for getting a good adjustment on your foot, so it takes a bit to figure out what strap to pull to tighten in different places. Very high quality sandal.

Toe part was tight but bearable, figured I just had to break them in. Then wore them on a 7 mike hike with creek crossings and got massive blisters on the medial great toe part and medial arch. This was while stopping to readjust several times. If I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would buy the ones without the toe strap.
