Charles Nolan Popcorn A-Line Coat - Wool (For Women)

This coat will be with me a long time. So pretty and versatile. The arm holes are just short of restrictive. The coat is tailored nicely, I'm just used to roominess. Nice way to satisfy my quality shopping jones.

Beautifully made and simply adorable. You would probably not want to wear it for everyday, but for any other occassion it is perfect. The pictures don't do it justice.

This is a beautiful, stylish coat. It's quite lightweight (more along the lines of a heavy sweater coat)and isn't particularly warm, at least in terms of withstanding chilly, windy winters in the New York/New Jersey area. I would consider it more appropriate for fall wear in this part of the country. As far as flattering certain body types, the cut is probably best suited for people who are NOT particularly curvy (either in the bust or the hip area); otherwise the fit might be too snug and the coat wouldn't hang properly. Overall, delighted with it.

I get complements every time I wear this coat. The popcorn detail, bell cuffs and placket at the back make this coat a one-of-a-kind design. I find it very light weight and comfortable, especially for the spring when you don't need to wear too much underneath. The reviews I read described small arms holes, which is true, but I have a slight frame and it fits fine (although I would not be able to put a sweater or suit jacket on with it). Can't beat the price.

This is a perfect coat for an evening out or a Sunday brunch. The nubby fabric adds interest to the classic cut, and the coat is beautifully constructed. I did find that the sleeves were cut very tight, which makes wearing a sweater under the coat problematic, but with a classic sheath, this is a very Holly Golightly look.

If you are broad shouldered this coat might not be the one for you. Other than that it is a fun coat.

This coat is absolutely beautiful, attractive and well-made. I bought it after reading all of the positive reviews. But it absolutely did not fit me. I am curvy and this coat is made for a stick. The belt detail on the back accentuates the butt so if yours is generous, forget it. And it fit really snug across the chest. Again, if you have a bust, forget it. It is also important to note that the sleeves "bell" at the end so they tend to drag over anything you touch while wearing the coat. May not be an issue for some but it bugged me.

This is a very versatile coat . You can dress it up or down, with a pair of jeans, and will do just fine.It is not made for heavy winter weather though.

Although this is not a warm cut, it is wool and is just about right for a Texas fall/winter. It would be good for spring or summer evenings in colder climates. I loved the retro look of the coat. The back is cuter than the front and is tapered in. It does have a slit up the back till the wide waist-band, but it hangs closed unless walking. My problem was that the arm hole openings were too small. I studied the shoulders and they seemed about right. I have broad shoulders of if the shoulders are a bit tight that is normal on me but usually the arm holes are fine. These felt a size small at least. Also, being only 5'3" the coat was a bit long. If that were the only problem I would have kept it and decided later about hemming but the sleeve-holes made me return it.

If you're looking for a versatile, lightweight coat with style, this is a real find. The Indigo color gives the vintage-inspired styling a contemporary kick. The size 6 fits my 5'3" frame perfectly. Based on the photograph, I was concerned that the silhouette would be boxy; however, the coat is perfectly fitted across the back and shoulders, and slightly flares to a knee length. I love Charles Nolan's clothes and feel fortunate to have found this coat at such a good price.
