    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    The product settings did not work and I was very disappointed to have to return such a heavy object and to be disappointed. the up and down errors necessary to set temperature did not work at all an the settings for low, high and medium heat would come on two at a time making a selection impossible. It was an attractive unit but not functional.

    I've only used this once so far--still learning how to use it the best way. It works like a Crock Pot, only larger. Solid, excellent quality. The buffet pans are a nice feature. The instructions and recipes are very helpful. The zip on cover is especially nice.

    Just received this and have only used one time. Worked very well and easy to set up. Haven't tried the insert yet but looks like it will be handy for the holidays. Only question not answered in the instruction manual, was if the cover can be used when the pot is hot, for transportation
