The fabric is not stretchy, so it will definitely look better if it is a smidge too big rather than too small. I think my usual size would have fit, but the little extra room here and there only makes the dress flow nicely, doesn't look the slightest bit sloppy. Beautiful pattern and fabric, it elicited many compliments the very first day I wore it to work!
