    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I don't think this jacket can really be described as "faux fur" - except in the sense of that scratchy, neon-colored stuff pioneered as fake fur in the 70s. This material is much the same - scratchy and woolly, with a long nap. I think a better description would be "faux mohair". Moreover, the "faux leather" trim and belt are so obviously vinyl that I wonder why anyone used the word "leather" in connection with it; calling it a vinyl belt would've been, again, a better description. So I bought this faux mohair jacket with vinyl belt thinking to replace the belt with actual leather, and with the idea in mind that it could be a fun jacket, in a campy, over the top kind of way. And it does have that potential - the wild print of the material has a lot of textural interest. But the cut was so boxy and unflattering that I simply couldn't get it to work - not at all like the nipped-waist appearance it has in the photo. Back it went. Oh well.
