I bought this for my husband because it seemed to fit a need he'd expressed. He is a new, but avid fly fisherman. He was a little cautious at first because it was a little difficult to get on and off, but he's found it extremely useful and uses it all the time. His buddies have asked about it and expressed surprise at the low cost. It is great, it seems, for having your flys organized and at your fingertips when you are in the middle of the river, allowing the fisherman to make changes in the flies they choose to use as the day goes on.

Have used this product both for saltwater and freshwater species from redfish to brook trout. Excelletn product and very versatile. Easy and comfortable to wear, functional, plenty of room, adjustable, and great for wearing or keeping in a float tube. Get one, you will not regret it. Best bang for the buck.

It's the perfect size. Nice and flat, dose not interfere with the stripping basket. It holds everything I need for a night of fishing.Carries large striper flies and plenty of them. Nothing to rust away in the salt water. Works great on the kayak and wade fishing. It's also a great deal for [$] You can not go wrong with this chest pack.

I agree with the comments made previously, especially the tip to criss-cross straps. I use this pack all the time while float tubing. It easily holds plenty of flies of various sizes, 5-6 tippet spools. a knife, and spare leaders. The only thing I wish was built in would be a retractable zinger, but I've added my own. Highly recommended.

Overall construction and design was good. It is a little larger than what I wanted - not that it is big, but was looking for something small and I am a small person (5'3") female - so it's sometimes it hard to find something small enough for my frame size. I would recommend it however.

I got tired of carrying a bag and leaving it on the beach while I fished. This pack made me cut down on unnecessary gear. I striper fish and and I can grab it and go. Nice close fit to the chest, crossing the straps, and it holds the bare essential gear, tippet material, nippers, and of course flies. Big enough for streamers and poppers, and a small clip on flashlight. Well worth the price.

I previously had a Columbia chest pack just like this one except where the ripple fly patch is theirs was sheepskin. Dried the flys and held them well without bulk. I always pinch barbs but the sheepskin still held the flys well. Also one problem with the columbia was the zippers always got salt corrosion even though zytel and then could not open them. Eventually had to use pliers to open and tore the pockets. Velcro closure would do the job nicely and eliminate this problem. This is a great chest pack and is all I need for a day trip in the salt water. Also because it lays close to the chest it doesn't block your view as you look down while wading. I also cross the leads behind the back and because the pack is nice and small all weight is kept off the neck. As anyones who has flyfished a lot with a heavy vest day after day knows how the vest cuts across the neck and shoulder muscles and is very uncomfortable.
