I bought this for my wife as a present, and I have not given it to her yet, so this is just my initial impression. She was looking to replace a similar Windblock LL Bean Polartec fleece that I bought years back that was too large and not all that stylish. I bought this Cloudveil jacket (not familiar with brand) based on reviews and price. Out of the box, it is a female form fitting jacket with high quality touches (elastic cords at waist, chest pocket, stout zippers) that I feel is a bargain when comparing to an alternative in the same price range like Columbia. Also a plus being offered in Neutral colors that will stay in style and last as long as this quality jacket will. This will be her jacket of choice in our mild NC winters because of its weight (middle to light) and wind blocking warmth.

I don't like bulky looking jackets. This is warm, but not bulky. I like the style.

this is a versatile piece that really shines in cold windy weather as a stand alone jacket or layered under a shell in wet nasty conditions. looks great on its own because of the trim fit and vibrant color (i have red xs).very warm.

I purchased this jacket as an additional ski jacket. When I received it and read the labels on the jacket, it said it was designed as a fishing jacket! It was way to big, and was not what I was looking for as a ski jacket. Beautifully made, just not what I needed.

Is this the right price for this garment? I have the men's version and don't recall paying this high a price for it. Please double check the pricing on this garment. It's only windstopper fleece and not some exotic material that would carry such a price premium.

Was looking for a jacket that I could use while riding my bike in Nov and living in Denver. I bought this and am glad I did. This is lightweight but protects from the wind and cool. It is perfect! I am small, under 5' and weigh less than 100 lb and the XS fit me perfectly. Would highly recommend this if you are looking for something to protect you against the wind and cool weather. Jacket is very well made.

I purchased this product in anticipation of an Everest Base Camp trek this October-November, wanting a garment I could wear with my daypack that would be warm, breathable, windproof, and flexible without being a shell garment. The design, weight and color of this garment, in addition to the single other review ("super warm") attracted my attention. [...]The fit is athletic, not too tight but definitely fitted, closer around the hips than the shoulders. I am burdened with the classic female pear shape, so fit at the hips is always a concern. This M jacket fits smoothly over 41" hips, the shoulders aren't too big, and the extended turtleneck fits nicely under my chin. Sleeve length is perfect. Did I mention the color? It's RED!!!! my favorite equipment color in the mountains, and rarely used in women's technical clothing. [...] Comments on various features: The Napoleon pockets should work well for stashing snacks, lip balm, small camera, etc., without interference by pack straps. The fabric, with the Windstopper membrane, doesn't feel too "boardy" as I've noticed in other Windstopper garments. The turtleneck has a nifty elastic drawstring cord & lock mechanism inside the top edge, accessed by an exterior port at the back of the neck, for extra draft protection (imagine drawing the jacket's neck around the neck portion of a balaclava! Wind? What wind?). The only "con" - if it's a con - is that when I raise my arms the garment's torso section comes up slightly. Another manufacturer uses an "angel-wing" design to minimize this tendency. If I were Cloudveil...Apparently this garment's part of Cloudveil's Angling line - but it will be equally suitable for high-altitude hiking or street wear. Very, very nice garment. I expect to be warm. [...]
