Cloudveil Koven Jacket - Waterproof, Stretch (For Women)

This is my second Koven Jacket and the style has got better than three years ago especially the collar. Thinking of layering system, this jacket without insulation is one of the best outer shell for back country skiing. And also good for cold rainy season.

I havent had a chance to test this jacket out in the rain but it fits well and is cosy. Material is a little bit noisy (the swishing noise allot of waterproof clothes make) and i am disappointed the hood doesnt detach or have a pocket it can be tucked inside but overall am very happy. Beautifully made, classy, promising. Sadly, everything about it was slightly off for my body type, which is mostly average with generous chest and slightly shorter arms. The seam across the chest was awkwardly placed, the waist was too loose and short, and it gapped front to back at the bottom. Might have been servicable for urban use, but not for backpacking, which was its intent. Still, it's well made and certainly will be the right fit for someone. Sorry it isn't me.

This jacket was a gift for a friend/colleague and she is very happy with it so far. We'll see how it does when the dwr wears off, but so far so good. I have had some trouble with the durability of cloudveil shells in the past (though their customer service was great), but this jacket is a completely different material and seems well put together. I was a little worried that the tan color would be too khaki, but it's really nice in hand.

Fits well--room for layering without being way too bulky. Fabric is really nice.

Pit zips are hard to open and close. Hood is a little hard to adjust. Otherwise it is a great "hard shell" jacket. I have been using it for running, snowshoeing, skiing, and it is very versatile. It adjusts well to a variety of temperatures. Great stretch. I would prefer a softer fabric but it might not be as wind and water proof. PS - I am not sure my clicks in some of the boxes above were accepted. There is no indication.

This jacket has plenty of ventillation and pockets suitable for backcountry travel in snow. It's lightweight and breathability make it a perfect outerlayer in moderate to vigorous outdoor activity.
