“I bought these pants for cold-weather hiking and traveling, not fishing. They do the job! Last week I used them for snow-shoeing in dry conditions - they kept me warm with only a baselayer underneath. I also wear them while biking in rain and they keep me reasonably dry in mild rainfall. It is an extremely stretchy soft-shell fabric. Water really beads up and rolls off the pant! Good fit and good design, with enough pockets, and the lower leg zips and convertible zips look very useful for summer hiking at high altitudes. Note, they are not very breathable, but that's not what they're meant for. Look to be well constructed and durable. Expensive, but seems to be worth it!”
