    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I was not pleased with the way it looked on me. The belt didn't look right buckled, tied, or removed. It is rather flimsy, needs some stiffening. I was afraid that the stand-up collar would be getting makeup on it with almost every wearing (like my raincoat does}, and with the leather trim that might be a problem.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I usually wear a 10 in jackets and coats but ordered a large so it would be big enough to put over sweaters or suits in the fall and winter. This was definitely too small in the shoulders and arms. It fit snugly over a blouse and would not cover a second layer like a jacket. The armholes are cut small and the sleeves are very narrow. Yes, it's wonderfully stylish, but it just won't work as a coat unless you wear very little underneath.
