I agree with other reviewers that the coat fits snug and you cannot wear bulky sweater underneath. Armholes, shoulder and chest areas are cut to fit your form and it looks very stylish. You acutally do not have to wear bulky sweater because the coat is extremely warm like a downcoat. I wear Tshirt/ blouse in a warmer spring day and just a cashimere sweater in a cold day in NYC. The synthetic material seems to be able to adjust to various temperature.

I ordered this coat in the only size available -- a medium -- hoping against hope that it would fit (some do). Unfortunately, it was way too big, and I had to send it back. I hope someone else gets it and loves it -- it's a beautiful coat and the chocolate color is gorgeous. It definitely runs true to size or even a little larger -- there's plenty of room for heavy sweaters underneath.

I ordered this coat for a trip to Switzerland. I needed something I could wear anywhere,and light enough to haul around. Since the temps are variable this time of year, cold in the resort areas, warmer at sea level, I did not want to pack/take more than one coat. This works perfectly. It fits perfectly, although, as others state, it is a bit snug through the shoulder/back area. But I am not wearing bulky sweaters, so no worries. I'm 5.11 and 140 lbs., I ordered the Medium. Thus, I cut off the belt loops and wrap the belt around my waist. Looks great. Lots of compliments. I would buy another in a different color. [...]

I would love this coat in a shorter version

This coat is perfect for my needs. I agree that it runs a bit small, making it difficult to layer. I typically wear a 10, but received this as a gift in a large (thanks to the reviews). Even so, a bit small, but I was able to fit a wool blazer in the coat. Feared a XL would just be too bulky and not fit properly. This is warm enough for northern US to 35F or higher, but best in the 40s or higher. Very pleased - but agree that the belt is much too flimsy. wearing it tied instead of belted. Suggest looping it through a loop to ensure the belt stays secure if the coat is worn open.

This coat is great for just about any occasion except the most formal. The fit is what I would call "classic." The armhole is cut a little small which makes it hard to layer underneath. The belt makes it a little fussy and I find it tends to come out of the belt loops due to the weight of the buckle if you're walking around with the coat open. In spite of the above, I love it. The coat is beautiful and I get compliments whenever I wear it.

I was looking for a coat that I was nice enough to wear to work and was also stylish enough to wear to on weekends. I found it in this coat. It is lightweight, but I have found it to be warm so far this season. I think the coat runs a bit small in the chest/shoulder area (and I'm rather flat chested). It clearly fits me, but I can not comfortably fit a thick sweater under it. Based on your situation, you may need to order up a size.

soft and beautiful

Living in the South-Western part of Ontario, autumns and spring can still be very chilly. This coat, although being warm enough for winter, is not bulky and is so light weight that it can be worn on colder days of spring and autumn. The cut is slenderizing even if it's quilted and the finishing trims are impeccable. It's perfect with skirt and boots or with jeans.
