These slippers are not inexpensive by any means, but they are very well made and if proper care is taken, they should last a very, very long time. Uppers are soft split grain with a suede finish, lined with shearling wool (also very soft). Soles are brown polished leather of the type and quality that you'd expect in the upper of an expensive loafer, and are reinforced with a stiff insert toe to heel for support. The soles have 2 thick (3/8") rubber treads, hard enough to last, soft enough to give good traction. There are 2 stretch panels at the entrance to get them on and off easily, but give a nice snug fit- they literally fit like a pair of gloves- not a loose fit as most slippers have, very snug. I have bunions, therefore wide feet, but there is no pressure or discomfort at all. Due to their construction (the expanding panels) I imagine they'd fit equally well on narrow feet too.
It's a warm Southern California day today, mid-80s, warm in the house, but my feet are not at all hot or perspiring. With the wool lining, these will keep my feet warm on the coldest of days, even at a ski lodge apres-ski. This is the benefit of wool, it regulates heat very well.
Since they are lightweight and flexible, they'll go into my carry-on bag as well to wear on the plane when I travel.
Their styling is such that you could wear them out with jeans, etc, and the rubber sole would support this as well.
Included a nice Cole Haan logo shoe bag as well, with separate compartments for each slipper (great for travel!). Top quality all the way. If you can afford the cost, get them.
