Cole Haan Wool Coat - Pleated Detail (For Women)

The coat is lovely. It is very fitted though, so if you are larger-chested, order up a size. I am used to an old, baggy coat, so the close fit accross my shoulders and chest came as a surprise. There is no pulling or gapping, though, so the cut is good, it is just form-fitting.

This coat is cute and a great weight. But I ordered up to a size 8 to leave sweater room, and there's just way too much fabric under the arms. Plus the shoulders droop. It's very, very itchy on my neck, and, yes, I could wear a scarf. But I don't always want to. Also, I can see the comment about the coat making a person look on the hippy (as in hips, y'know) side, as I'm a pants size 4, and I kind of look hippy in the coat. I'm sad that this didn't work out. Rats. It's going back.

It is difficult to see in the photos online, but the pleats in this coat make the hips really poof (sp?) out. The coat would fit over a hoop skirt -- fitted at the top down to the waist, then flairing out. Not what I expected, but I am keeping the coat.

I ordered up a size on a friend's recommendation, and I am glad that I did. The coat is cut fairly close through the chest. It's beautiful, with lovely details.
