I have two big dogs who tend to run up the stairs at full speed. I also have two teenage boys who do the same. These treads have not slipped an inch - from the dogs, the kids, vacuuming, etc. They are very well made and give a nice cushioned feel under foot. Make sure to get the Colonial Mills stair tread insulation kit to go with them and you will undoubtedly be pleased.

Easy to install with the Colonial Mills Stair Tread Installation Kit. Provides better surface on the stairs for my large breed dog to negotiate. If the treads get soiled they are removable for cleaning.

I haven't installed the stair treads yet, but the workmanship is beautiful. I can't wait to put them in use. The brown color treads match nicely with Colonial Mills Walnut/Birch braided rugs.

Loved how it was easy to apply. I used the tape that was suggested and it worked out perfectly for 13 steps.

We recently installed hardwood floors in our home. I anticipated that my dogs would have difficulty on the stairs. This really solved the problem and was a snap to install with the installation kit(sold seperately)

With a house full of rambunctious boys and a very energetic dog, my hardwood steps take a beating. One day when the kids are older and the dog has less energy, I will get the steps refinished, but until that time, I was looking for something that would help conceal the years of abuse. The stair treads are perfect! The scratches on the stairs are covered, the treads look great, and with the installation kit that I bought from STP, they were a piece of cake to install. If only I had done this years ago, I wouldn't have so many scratches to conceal. I got the roasted brown color, and it was a little darker than I thought it would be, but they look great, and I am very pleased.

We got these for our 3 flights of stairs. We have 3 dogs and on many times they slip down the stairs due to no traction on the hardwood. Now with these treads, they are going down the stairs perfectly!! Especially the 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier who alsways slid at least 4 stairs at a time and was getting fearful. Now she spends more time downstairs with us becasue she is more confidant going up and down the stairs. We bought the installation grip tread that goes under the rug treads: you need to get this for proper installaion and no slip effect.

My treads are for a spiral staircase carpeted steps to protect the original carpeting from fraying. The treads seem durable and perfect for this job, however it would be nice if they came with some kind of attachment product.
