I have a large dog and a few cats along with a "bull in a china closet" husband.. and these things haven't budged. Also, I have spot cleaned them right on the stair without any issue. I highly recommend these stair treads WITH the installation kit (to hold them in place)!

After painting the stairwell, I painted the stairs with an oil-based enamel and installed these braided carpet treads using the recommended double-sided sticky strip. Easy and fast to install, feels secure to walk on, and the stairwell looks so much better.

These treads have not slipped an inch - from the dogs, the kids, vacuuming, etc. They are very well made and give a nice cushioned feel under foot. Make sure to get the Colonial Mills stair tread insulation kit to go with them and you will undoubtedly be pleased.
