    The traction on these boots are good. When it is icy, I wear these boots with Stabilicers, and have no problems. I was skeptical about how warm they would be, considering they are rubber on the bottom half, and I didn't think they had enough insulation. I put them on recently, when temp was -13, to walk to commuter bus, and my feet were warm and dry.

    I bought these after my Rocky snow boots soles came apart due to the ice, cold & age. I loved those boots and I couldn't find the same boot for a replacement. So, I gambled on the Columbia boot and I think that I found a winter winner!

    I got these boots for our ski trip and have worn them for a lot more than that. It has been cold and rainy where I live so I have been wearing them a lot and they are great. My feet have been dry and warm on some pretty nasty days. I haven't gone skiing yet, however I can tell these are going to be perfect. They are a little heavy but I think that is to be expected with any snow/cold gear boot.

    Bought these in 1999, used only a few times each year, still look new but this winter the leather/rubber interface completely came apart on both sides of the left boot. I still have a pair of 23 year old all leather timberlands that I wear all the time and have held up much better but not as warm.

    My pre-teen son hates winter boots as much as I do! In his mind they just aren't "cool". These boots are great because of the waterproofing around the toes to the upper. Even with a leather upper they do keep water out and are very comfortable and warm. These are the first boots since he was a kindergartner that I have been able ot get him to wear. He loves these boots and they are what almost all the boys his age are wearing.
