Closeouts. Columbia Footwear calls their Cross-Train Suspension (XTS) system 4WD for your feet, and they're not kidding around — just head off-road in Gaia® trail shoes to find out why. A unique TPU plate provides forefoot protection from sharp objects, adds stability and provides a rigid base for active feet.

Pros:
Durable, Good Cushioning, Great Traction
Best Uses:
Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Walker/Hiker
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I loved the look of this shoe, BEFORE I tried it on. It felt great except the toe box was so long it felt abnormal. I've worn shoes like this before and all it does is make me trip. Not good if you are on uneven ground to begin with. I love Columbia shoes though, so I will keep trying other styles.

These are very comfortable and good looking. They're a great crossover shoe. Not quite a hiking shoe, but more rugged than a sneaker. They've got a light hiking sole but retain a lightweight upper. The best of both worlds, so to speak. I'm planning to wear them walking in the Alps next spring.I purchased the tan with yellow
accents, which was a pleasing light yellow shade. Very good value and seem to be well made.

Great lightweight hiking shoe but runs narrow in arch area-must wear lightweight socks to use but very comfortable with the lightweight socks. i tested on the first day with a six mile hike in rugged mountain terrain and my feet were still good at the end of the day..
