“The shoes are comfortable like all Columbia shoes are, but I'm definitely not happy with them for a super unexpected reason. Note that I have had these shoes for about 2 months now--as opposed to some of the other reviewers.
The antimicrobial footbeds are a feature advertised so prominently that "anti-odor" is actually printed on them. Ironically, I have never had any sort of issue with foot odor and continue to have none with any other pair of shoes I own. But the shoes began to smell within just a week or so of normal indoor wear (I have hardwood floors). It's unpleasant enough that the smell is left on my feet when I take them off. They smell like dirty sneakers belonging to someone who didn't wear socks, yet these are not even closed shoes--very strange. If they had not boasted the 'anti-odor' feature, I would just cut my losses and eventually retire them. But I find it too ironic that this special feature has the opposite result.
One other smaller con is that the leather thong is attached to the footbed with a ribbon. I'm not sure how long that will actually last, particularly since I bought these to replace my last pair (which had a cloth thong that eventually got weaker) after it came apart right at that place (which gets a lot of strain from walking after awhile). I can't understand why a sportswear company like Columbia would make somewhat rugged sandals with a feature like that. Why not leather?”
