Slaps on my heelsReviewed by Patricia from NJ on Sunday, August 17, 2014The top fabric of this shoe has a lot of spring to it, but that's the problem—my mid foot rises so high off the sole when I take a step that the sole slaps up sharply against my heel. Otherwise, they are comfortable with good cushioning and arch support. I got these in both Black and Stone last year but never wear them (for longer then a few minutes), so I'm finally going to donate them. I since bought other slides with an adjustable strap closer to the ankle that holds my foot more securely. Also, I had to exchange the first Stone ones twice to get one pair with both toe loops the same size—in both faulty pairs, one shoe had a loop much larger than the other, which I walked right out of. STP was great with the exchanges, but I don't think I'd buy Columbia sandals again because of the inconsistency.

After wearing for a few weeks the sandal has loosened up to the point that I can no longer wear the sandal. I ordered a size 9 and the length is fine. I have a somewhat narrow foot, not narrow and not medium. I have a hard time wearing a sandal because they will not stay on my feet unless the sandal is narrow. I wish this sandal came in a narrow. I will donate to someone who can wear this sandal.

The sole is cushioned, and the fabric toe-thong design keeps them securely on your feet. Although there is some give in the fabric uppers, this design may not accommodate very wide or swollen feet. Also note that I followed the instructions to size up (I wear a half size) and had to return the sandals for the smaller size.

This sandal fits snug enough to stay on without continuous effort. This pair is my 4th over the last few years. Perhaps Columbia will revive additional colors, like the red formerly available.

Hard to find anything I don't like about them! I wear these when I'm planning long days on my feet, they are casual but look fine with a skirt for a casual time out. I have a medium width foot with a high instep. I tried the newer version of these (Columbia's Kea sandals) but found they are sewn onto a narrower last and fit way tighter across the instep. So searched online to find the Nevis. Thank you Sierra for carrying them!

Great sandal for comfort and travelReviewed by C J from Seattle on Thursday, July 17, 2014First bought a sand colored pair of these at a Columbia Sportswear outlet several years ago. Loved them so much, I purchased another pair (brown) online and wore them everywhere. They are great for travel: cool & comfortable to wear. I often tour or day hike in them (great grip on my foot, decent arch support and good sole for traction on uneven surfaces), then wipe or rinse off the dust and wear with a skirt for a casual dinner out.
Recently I wanted another pair, so I ordered the Kea sandals from Columbia Sportswear. They are not same fit at all. The Nevis is designed for a wider foot / higher instep than the Kea. The Kea footbed is a bit narrower and the grip for the toes is much tighter, and the traction is not as strong with the flower-shaped sole. So if you have a wide foot or a high instep, the Nevis is more likely to fit you. -

These don't fit me like the Merrill's did....Reviewed by Anonymous from Vancouver, WA on Saturday, July 5, 2014After reading the reviews, I ordered 3 pair because I absolutely LOVED the Merrill's. This sandal is similar, but quite different in look and fit on my foot. The "v" line leaving from the toe divider of the Merrill that is made of contrasting fabric is different on this shoe and the little "pic-a-boo" between the "v" is missing on this shoe. That's what made the look of the Merrill. The Columbia does not have that same sleek look. Size fit fine, but I don't care for the look of this shoe. I plan to return my order and am bummed.

I get a lot of compliments when wearing them. They work well with shorts or a summer dress and fit true to size. I ordered a pair for my mom after wearing these as they don't 'flop' around on your feet and I worry about her tripping on sandals. She does not like a strap between the toe sandal but since the band on the toe is long, she didn't even notice it. We both love them and the price is right.
