We bought this for an upcoming trip to a rainy climate. My daughter is at an awkward size right now-between a 10.5 and an 11. We bought size eleven, but it's actually just right. I would say that these run maybe a 1/4 size small, so if your child is an 11, you might consider an 11.5. My daughter has thin feet, both in width and height. These do seem to need some break in time, as she's noticing some rubbing around her ankles. She is very accident prone when it comes to running, but when she ran in these, she miraculously didn't trip!

My granddaughter loved her "hike boots". It was nice to be able to find good children's hiking clothes & shoes at good prices.

I have two young boys. They each have a pair of these boots (the colors work for both boys and girls), and they love them. These boots are comfortable, waterproof, have great traction, and are very durable. My kids wore them a good part of the summer through rain puddles and on muddy trails,on mossy and wet rocks and along river banks and the boots held up very well. Yes they do hold some mud in the tread, but no more than any other trail shoe - stomp or bang the boots and the mud/dirt comes free easily. Which brings me to another point - the boys have worn these through some pretty muddy stuff (they love the mud) and the boots are still very new looking! I'm picky, and I highly recommend these for outdoorsy kids.

This was ordered for my 11 year old grandson out of the kid shoe section. Turns out they were for toddlers. i've since learned only a few shoes also say YOUTH as an alternative to larger sizes. Siera credited me promptly minus return shipping, but I feel even after reading the sizing chart that more is needed to identify larger kid shoes from adult and toddler. guess it was worth the $5.95 return deduction to learn this lesson.

These shoes look great, but they run small. Our daughter normally wears a size 6.5/7. We got these in a size 8, hoping they would last her all summer, but they were already nearly too tight to get on her feet. Also, the description says they have toggles, but they have regular laces. We've always been happy with Columbia in the past and were disappointed to have to return these.
