Meter Reader- walk 20-25 miles a day, the boot lasted 7 months. AWESOME!!! Too bad it is sold out on the web or I would buy another pair.
Other brands last 2-3 months like my red wing boots did.

I used these boots on a weekend hiking trip in Northeastern Mass in February. They arrived at my door on Tuesday, and I hit the trail on Friday. The breakin was easy, lucky for me.
The boots are very lightweight for their rating, the insulation was supple, although at first fit it seemed too small until your foot warmed up at which point the fit was true to size.
I liked the gaiter loop on the toe also.
Great deals at Sierra Trading Post, I love the bargins!

i was concerned with the other reviews describing these shoes as slightly bigger, but they fit just fine. i have wide feet and i normally get half a size bigger. i was just fortunate there weren't any in size 12. i end up getting the 11 1/2 and i am sure glad i did.

As expected from a brand name shoe - this boots are excellent for walking and wading in the rain, snow, mud, and ice here in Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Waterproof and warm. And they also look great. Got a few nice remarks about them already. Only thing I don't like about it is that it seems too constricting at the ankles. I don't tie it too tight at that height. But overall, for the price I paid at Sierra Trading Post, this is a great, great buy. I'll definitely recommend this one to my fellow Soldiers here at Bagram in this time and weather.

I purchased these boots for my son to wear at a barn that he works at and ride his horse. The waterproof portion was tested to the max with my son walking though puddles of muck.

I bought these boots a few months back when they were on sale. Last winter, I wore the Columbia Bugabootoo but sliced a hole in the bottom of them on a sharp rock while hiking. I figured I would try these as they were cheaper at the time and I was looking for something a little less bulky.
These boots definitely run 1/2 to a full size too small. I wasn't too concerened about them because I have very narrow feet, but it still ran very small. They have taken me awhile to break in (at least six 2 hour hikes) and the biggest complaint I have is that if I lace them either too tight or too lose they rub the outside of my ankle in a painful way (I normally have NO problems with shoes rubbing wrong). It takes about three tries to get the laces just right in order for them not to rub. The other downfall is that the tread on the bottom is wearing out VERY quickly and doesn't grip slush and ice very well (and we aren't even into the full of winter yet). I solved that problem by buying some slip on grips. However, I've only had them for a few months now and wear them maybe once or twice a week and there is considerable wearing on the tread.
Compaired to the Bugabootoo that I wore last year, I have to say that I prefer the Bugabootoo even though they are more bulky. The Bugabootoos leave room to spare for thicker socks whereas these do not leave ANY spare room for thick socks. If you are planning on wearing anything more than a medium weight hiking sock definitely order these a 1/2 size or full size larger...especially if you have a medium to wide foot.
Overall, good boots, but I'm currently shopping for a replacement pair just in case these don't make it through the winter.
