    Purchased for my son who was wearing burton snowboarding and patagona ski pants. Burton has no inside leg protection patches(snowboarding pants) and neither did the patagonia ski pants, so it didn't bother my son that the free agent had no edge guard protection. He snowboards, so it's not needed. He also like the fit and adjustable waist and pockets.

    Great snow pant. I don't know about for skiing. I bought this for my youth to play with snow for hours outdoor. The waist adjustment works OK, but the adjustment would fit better if the straps are at the outside of the waist, instead of at the back of the waist, which creates a hole between the body and the pant. The material is great.
