CRKT Kommer Full Throttle Knife - Liner Lock

Does not open easily and gold color looks foolish

Knife is difficult to open when new. Requires two hands to start the open, then the outburst has a tendency to catch you by surprise. Got a nice cut in the palm of my hand trying to loosen up the mechanism. Not nearly as easy to open as expected for an "assisted" opener.

This is a very classy and elegant knife with its black and gold appointments. Outburst sticks a little but that may work in over time. Very sharp and practical blade. Hefty for its size but that just gives it a very solid feel. Feels just at home openning a letter as slicing an apple.

I bought 3 assisted opening knives. A Kershaw, and 2 CRKT's. This Kommer was one of the two CRKT's and turned out to be the best of the lot. It's very well made, solid, after moving the blade manually 30 degrees, the assisted opening spring takes over and the knife opens with a hard snap and locks into place. It was a little stiff at first, so a little oil fixed that and the knife opened easily. It's quite handy, having a razor sharp blade available that opens with one hand, and I've used it in the garden, in the house, and intend to use it while camping, and wilderness walking. It clips to the pocket, and is the perfect size knife to take on the trail. Did I say I like this knife?

As usual, good quality from CRKT and great price from Sierra Trading Post.

This knife is made with attention to details. The fit and finish are superb (polishing, gold colored highlights, etc.). The knife is on the heavy side and the only reason for the 4 out of 5 rating. The handles are dense and substantial. However the heft may be required for the tension rod assisted opening mechanism or overall performance. It's beauty temps dress carry, but for dress pants may be too heavy on the pocket. I have considered skeletonizing (drilling wholes) in the handles to reduce weight. Note it does not have a lanyard whole. I'm not trying to be overly critical, only informative. It is a terrific knife and good value. [...]

The assisted opening feature takes some getting used to. The knife itself is to heavy for backpacking.

very nice knife, great value for the money. opens fast with the assist, seems durable and well-made. I would recommend it, you won't find a better value for this type of pocket knife.

I love the spring assisted opening on the CRKT knives.
