My dog has a large chest, so I sized up. It is long on her, but not bad. It would not work on a male dog. I got the Xl because she measured 31 in the chest, but only 22 in length. It is a little big on her and the jacket is made to stretch. I think it would be hard to put on if the coat had a tighter fit. My dog loves it.

This jacket is great in cold winds and wet snow. This is the third one I have purchased. I wish Columbia would come out with matching booties. My male rat terrier required that I make some adjustments to the bottom of the jacket, but since I sew, a few pleats later it fits perfectly.

Tested briefly this week, it provided some extra warmth for my little Malty. He wore it twice for a few hours each time. Managed to get he leg stuck just once. Otherwise, was pretty comfortable with it. The leg openings aren't too tight, so I think they will be very motion-friendly, if he has to move with it on. Overall, a very high quality Columbia product.

This is a fantastic coat. I have two Boston Terriers - 19 lbs and 30 lbs. I bought XS and S. The Small fits my 19lb-er, but I had to send back the XS and get a Medium for my 30lb-er. Keep in mind, that's a Medium for a Boston Terrier. He's a big BT, but it seems this jacket is made for small dogs. Jacket does cause some underarm irritation with prolonged use, but all in all, it is an EXCELLENT jacket that I highly recommend.

Excellent coat for the snow, rain and outdoors in general. Waterproof and breathable material. Soft and comfortable lined inside. Does not cause the chafing ppl have experienced with the storm chaser jacket.

We used this coat when taking our sun loving Florida Weimaraner to snowy Northern Ohio this past winter. This was just enough to keep him warm while hiking in the woods and playing with us out in the snow. The side zipper made putting it on him really easy, the reflectors made him easy to spot and the jacket didn't seem to restrict his movement. He didn't mind putting it on at all and once he was outside it was hard to get him to come back in!

I bought one for my first dog and when the second arrived, I was able to get another one. These are great little coats for my two small dogs. They are great looking, easy to put on, and don't inhibit the dogs playing in the snow and cold. The quality of very good.

The snaps around the neck make it easier to get it zipped up and it's one of few waterproof coats that you can use over a harness. My dog is long and thin and I've had trouble finding a coat that is long enough but not too big around-- the stretch in this one makes it work!

We have miniature dachshunds, and the Alpine Adventure dog coat works well on them. They take a size XS, and it is long enough to cover them, yet the leg openings are small enough that they don't trip while wearing the coat. It is well constructed, and holds up very well.
