It is pretty warm during 9 degree days with 15 below winds. so I expect it will hold up against worse. Generally buy a size larger than what you think you will wear because then you can fit extra layers underneath in case of extremely cold days. This is a great jacket though and is relatively well suited to the frequent changes in temperature/weather we have here in Minnesota.
