I especially like that the back is a little higher than the front so you don't have a gap when you bend over. I haven't worn them in cold weather yet, but I think they will be warm and comfortable. They washed well.

I also like the higher back waist. No cold spots because of a gap! The quality seems just what you'd expect from Columbia. I went with a size 10 and I'm 127lbs / 5'7". Fit great.

Absolutely perfect for dog agility in cold arenas, and probably great for XC ski pants too, though I got them too late in the season to try them this year. This is my second pair. I normally wear a 6 and am 5'9". Based on reviews, I bought the 8s my first time. They fit like comfortable riding breeches (form-fitting) and extremely flattering. No need for tights underneath. I then ordered a pair of 10s, which are ultra-roomy without being baggy. Great for a more "relaxed" feel. The legs are LONG, which I appreciate. The waistband in back is higher, which keeps out drafts. They're as stretchy as good tights, and the outside finish is smooth so dog hair and dust brushes right off. And they are VERY warm. Can't say enough good about these pants, but do order one size up if you like a snug fit, and two sizes up if you want a looser fit.
