    I do not like "long" shorts as they have never fit well on me before this pair. They were always binding at the thigh and appeared bunchy in the crotch. Not these Columbia shorts - the material was soft and stretchy and I just love that "back-up" styling! Higher in the back with a graceful sweep just under the navel in a pull up style that so does NOT look grandmotherly in any way. Wore them hiking and about town and they were just right with each. Definitely a good buy for me - and I do wish STP had another color in this style.
