The fleece material is woven really tight and appears to be very high quality. The jacket overall is extremely nice quality and the fit seems to run true to size. It doesn't run really big and boxy, nor does it run really fitted-sort of falls right in the middle. My husband has longer arms and always complains that clothing is too short in the arms, but he is very happy with the arm length on this jacket. Very pleased with this purchase.

Between both a M and XXL neither was even close to being true to size nor was the material the fleece material that I come to know as fleece. I am a big fan of Columbia fleeces and personally own several of them as well as winter coats from them but this is not the level I expect from them. Needless to say both of them were shipped back.

Stays dry through most weather but it is a little tight and you cannot wear many layers underneath. Suggest buying a size too big if you want to layer. Great jacket really well made. I'd buy another one

Still works very well as an inner layer. I find it best used alone below 50 degrees F, or below 30 degrees F with a shell.
