I'm tall and thin with broad shoulders, so I always worry that the sleeves will be too short, the shoulder area too restrictive. Not so with this jacket, which I was just swimming in.

I justr moved to San Francisco, which it turns out, is in the 50's with windy fog in the summer. But, if the sun comes out, it soars into the 70s and gets warm. I needed somethhing light enough to carry with me all the time, yet warm enough and water resistant to hold off the misting sky and cut the wind. I tried on several different styles of raincoat and this was by far the best. Other reviewers' comments are accurate. Only possible downsides: will it pick up dirt easily? I don't know yet. It's cut slightly large if you only have a single layer underneath, just right for sweater. And, although it's belted/cinched in the back, to make a stylish look from the back, the front falls straight, and I wish it had just a little waistline to add a more feminine cut from the front. But really, looks great, even with the sun shining, it doesn't have to look like a raincoat, just a light outer layer.

Really, really like this jacket. I'm a shapely size 14 and the side adjustments make a wonderful difference in making the jacket really fit my figure. The fabric is fabulous and it has a bunch of inside pockets the the geek in me really loves. This jacket is casual enough to go with jeans, but dressy enough to go over a work pant suit and long enough to cover a suit jacket, so I think it's going to be very useful.

I have not worn this coat outside yet but I already love it. The cut is very nice. It is fitted but loose enough for wearing layers underneath. I have been looking for a lightweight trenchcoat without a belt in a light, neutral color for a long time. This is exactly what I wanted. I have it in stone, which is a very light beige-grey. The reviewer who said it cannot be worn open is right though. It does not look good if you don't zip it up and close the snaps. For me this is not an issue, I like to wear my coats zipped/buttoned up. It has many practical pockets on the inside. The only thing I dislike is the name of the manufacturer in a very prominent place on the sleeve. The arms are slightly long for me but I have short arms.

I bought this jacket to throw on when I walk the dog or run to the store. It has a nice cut and fit, but for some reason they placed the pockets on the far right, right on the seam. If you like to walk with your hands in your pockets, or store doggie bags, keys, etc., it has the effect of walking with your hands straight down on the outside of your thighs or something. Very awkward and an unnatural reach. Also, the Columbia Logo is on the back, and I am philosophically opposed to paying for a garment and then giving it free advertising by wearing its logo. Other than that, the logo is attractive. Just not my style.

Overall the jacket was ok. It is very thin. Probably a summer jacket to wear in the rain. It does not provide any warmth. There is no lining which makes it look cheap. I would not pay full or even half price for this. The fabric would probably hold up well during hiking or camping. I usually wear a size small and the extra small fit well. The sleeves are long, but I have short arms.

A great alternative to the classic tied trench.

nice material, still a little light for March in upstate NY, so i have not really worn it out yet.Design is more stylish than i thought, with a sort of( stay with me here) a flouncy bottom, something i would normally eschew. However my husband convinced me it was flattering and more feminine than a militaristic shape.

I wanted to love this coat. The fabric is silky, lightweight, and waterproof. The styling is pretty good, too. The problem is that it zips up the front and is then covered by a flap with big, hardy, ungainly snaps. You really can't leave it open because the flap and snaps look silly. Also, there are side cinching straps, which can be adjusted with snaps. Unfortunately, it's the same big, ugly snaps as in the front, so you can only really use the smallest adjustment. Last, the color, I do so love red, but I'm blond and I do best with cherry reds. This is a little more of a fire red with enough orange in it to look terrible on me. It was so close to great, but not close enough.
