Reviewed by Jennie from Minnesota on Wednesday, June 19, 2013I love the look of this shirt. I got the blue-ish color (can't remember the name) and it's beautiful - kind of a grayish blue. The shirt is extremely comfortable and stylish. Sizing is okay, but the sleeves are a little tight, but okay (sleeves tend to be tight on me). I had the opportunity to test the insect blocker in the Boundary Waters of MN last week. We were hit with 4 kinds of biting insects, and among the worst swarms I've seen. I'm not really sure what help, if any, the shirt provided. I still needed bug spray, and thinking the shirt would block the areas it covered, I didn't spray my shirt, but I'm not sure that the shirt was doing that much good. Still, I'm happy with this purchase for aesthetic reasons, and it makes a great camp shirt, and it certainly doesn't make the bug situation any worse.

Very comfortable for her, nice, clean, classy look for me. She has worn this top for days both by itself and layered. The fact that she is wearing it (and not just once) speaks volumes. I wish I had bought one for me.

This shirt's good for shade and hope the bug treatment isn't poisonous (it can't exactly be good, now can it?). Could do without embroidered INSECT BLOCKER or whatever it is on the sleeve; wish the inner collar band was not a different color; and really wish collar was a bit stiffer. This type of flip up collar usually stands up easily, but not so with this shirt. Bummer, since I wear it for shade and protection riding my motorcycle. I may slit the collar seam and insert some iron-on interfacing to increase stiffness, but jeez, that tales more time than I have and is a hassle.

We followed the size chart and got her a women's small. However, we ended up exchanging for an extra small since it was a bit too roomy in the waist and long in the sleeves. She is petite, but according to the chest and waist sizes in the chart, we ordered a size too large originally. Although she has not used the shirts yet, it is evident that they are very good quality.

The sleeves roll up to above the elbow, which i was surprised about. I am taking this into the woods in China, so I hope that it keeps mosquitos away. Otherwise, it's what I expected. Shame on the small sizing. I am 5'6" and 125 lbs.

The collar is particularly well designed and includes an extra half-moon piece on the collar that fits up around the ears when the collar is pulled up. Beware this shirt runs small and has very narrow arms. A medium is usually very roomy on me, but this one fits much closer to the body. For me, it's perfect, but if you have broad shoulders or are a generous medium, you should order up.
