Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by TwinTurbo from Southern California on Saturday, November 29, 2014The "Bugaboot" is what would appear a nice boot that is well made. When you first wear them they will do everything you want them to do and keep your feet warm. Then after a few years the rubber will break down.
I purchased a pair of this very type of boot years ago. I live in Southern Cali and had bought them for a day with my son in the nearby hills where we get some snow. I wore them for a few days in the hills and they performed great.
I boxed them up in the original box, and threw them back in the closet. Fast forward 4 years. We are now taking a trip to Green Bay to catch a Packer game in November. I take them out of the box, throw them in the suitcase and look forward to watching the game with these boots keeping my feet warm. I noticed right away on our way into Lambeau that there was a fine crack in the rubber on the toe. The crack then turned into something much larger and my feet started getting really cold. It was a good thing the Packers had already sealed the deal against the Eagles by the end of the 3rd Quarter as my feet had had it. They were freezing.
I get to my dads house in and pull these boots off. They literally fell apart. Pieces of rubber crumbled.
I have included pictures of them.
I emailed Columbia with the pictures and they had asked me to send them in and although they were far outside the 1 year warranty they were willing to take a look at them and determine if it was a flaw in manufacturing. Unfortunately for me. I had thrown them away at my dads house in Green Bay as i didn't see a need to pack them in my suitcase and bring them back to Cali.
If you look at other reviews around the web you will see that this is not a one time phenomenon. It has happened to many others.
Just do yourself a favor and keep the receipt, and if they break down, email columbia immediately and send them the boot. I would suspect they would send you another pair. AS for me. I am out of luck.

Reviewed by dog walker from NY on Tuesday, March 25, 2014The boots seem to be good, and very warm. As the winter is nearing it's end (I hope) I probably won't be able to put them through their paces. The customer service At STP is second to none. I had to return various boots (wrong size/fit) and the STP staff made it effortless and helped with the pick of the right boots.
