This shirt protects me from both of those, and the first one I bought two years ago, still has no rips! Amazing material, and still lightweight. The other thing that makes this shirt amazing is the POCKETS. They are big (not bulky or ugly though) and hold all my nerdy biology gear. It's well ventilated and fits a female figure quite nicely. Not too snug, but not too flowy either. I just bought my second one, and love the dusty blue color.

Also will add that I am 5'8" 155 lbs, 36C ordered a medium and it fits beautifully! The shipping rocks and makes returns easy. I am a satisfied customer, and ordered more columbia wear from Sierra Trading Post, sure beats going to the mall! Thank you
