    I am a fan of the quality of Columbia products since they are usually, reasonably priced and can take lots of abuse. These pants held up great on a 4 day backpacking trip (mostly through heavy vegetation and moist conditions). Very light, breathable, multi-purpose pants. Reasonably tough, dry quick and can convert to shorts and back quickly. Excellent purchase for under $20.

    Nice - extremely light weight. Overall well constructed but what they did not make clear is that the side closures for the zip-off legs are velcro - since I picked them up for about $20 I'll deal with it, but I find the velcro side closures to be problematic in the woods. A little short in the crotch but given the 36-39 inch sizing on the waist, they settled on a reasonable overall set of dimensions.
