    Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
    I was looking for a jacket to use for cold weather bike commuting that could be worn after the ride and not broadcast "cyclist" The large size I first ordered was too loose [44 chest] but the medium that replaced it fit me perfectly. It is still roomy enough for me to layer under but snug enough to not flap around on a ride. It is really warm on it own and the low bulk insulation is indeed low profile. Luckily, this winter in the midwest has been so mild I have had any use for it. If I had to change anything I would add a drawstring at the waist to keep in the warmth but great jacket overall.
