My husband is a consistent size 36, but after reading reviews at the Columbia website as well as other websites that sold this pant, I decided to order him two pair of 38s. The 38s fit exactly like several of this Merrell and Patagonia size 36 travel/ hiking pants, and he absolutely loves the Columb... Read More

These fit my husband well and looked nice but the fabric is a little heavier than I was hoping for travel.
We did order a size up as recommended and that was great advice since they just do fit with no extra room.
We like the extra security of the zippered side pocket and Velcro on the back pockets. They appear to be well made.

Great fit, gives and stretches in all the right places. Light weight and not to warm. Perfect for three season wear.

I've had lots of Columbia pants and these are the best of all. Super comfortable. Light enough and stretchy for field work but nice enough casual office wear. Buy them!

2nd fav pair after the discontinued Columbia Titanium. They're neck to neck since this one has a bit of stretch to it. It's a little hard to find a pair you love since columbia tends to discontinue items every few years and use a different name. I go to the store/outlet all the time and have never seen this, so thanks to STP, I have a great pair that'll last me 4-5 more years.

My Columbia Titanium pants are sized 30, but theyre a little tight. At 32 or so, they are about the same size as these Cool Creek II pants at size 34. Go up a bit and it'll also allow you to wear a base layer. I wore a pair of thermal and these and I was warm at 0 degrees F. For my top I wore thermals, a long sleeve columbia shirt, a Columbia sweater and a waterproof Mt. Hardware jacket.

  • Question “what color is gravel. is it green”
Asked on 7/17/2014 9:06:54 PM by Johnny the Hiker from ca
    • Answer yes, it's a dark emerald green -- nice pants, but the color is tough in matching with other than uniform-like outfits.
Answered on 7/17/2014 9:27:47 PM by Anonymous from ny
    • Answer Yes, the color is green. The photo looks rather grey, but the pants are a green that is close to military fatigues. Great pants, though.

    • Answer It's kind of between olive green and grayish-green (kinda like park ranger uniform color but a bit more on the gray side)
Answered on 7/17/2014 11:17:52 PM by LilyCatsMom from SF Bay Area, CA
    • Answer Yes its a shade of green. Darker than most greens. I like it, but I do prefer a dark charcoal gray. A Gray or khaki color seems to go better with most tops, but the Gravel Cool Creek II has a nice stretch to it.

    • Answer Sorry, I got 'tusk', which is khaki. I did not get the color 'gravel'.

    • Answer Greenish gray, more green than grzy but not green green

    • Answer Sort of. It is like a Khaki with a bit of a green hue. It is a hard one to explain. I suggest a couple of more opinions. It is a nice color and goes well with almost all camping clothing, but it is just hard for me to describe.

  • Question “The waist size is body size or pants size? ”
Asked on 7/8/2014 8:32:28 PM by Hiro from Portland
    • Answer The pants waist size is the size of the pants' waist, which should be the same waist as the wearer of the pants -- :)
Answered on 7/8/2014 9:42:04 PM by Anonymous from ny
    • Answer Pants size.
Answered on 7/9/2014 5:32:04 AM by KLM from Durham, NC
    • Answer Waist size refers to the pants. However, the pants should fit your body.

For example, a 32 waist means the waist of the pants is 32 inches around.

      You must measure your waist.

This link will show you how to measure your waist.

If your waist is 32 inches, buy 32 inch waist pants. If your waist is 33 inches, but 33 inch waist pants are not available, buy 34 inch waist pants.
