Columbia Sportswear Cyclocross II Pants - UPF 50 (For Men)

Great pants. Love the lightweight and the material, but the front pockets are tiny. I had to check to make sure I didn't order women's pants by mistake! I still wear them and love them, but those stupid pockets almost ruin a great pair of pants.

When I first tried them on, I thought the pockets were a bit wierd. I hoped my keys and phone wouldn't get lost when I took a seat. Turns out, these are really well thought out for cycling- the front pockets are cut high to keep your stuff from pinching your hips and thighs in the saddle. The cargo pocket has a triangular shape that keeps it's contents from swinging above the knee while riding. There is a tapered gusset cut that runs from crotch to ankle that keeps the pants from twisting with repeated movements. I like Columbia pants, but I really just expected unremarkable cargo pants that happen to have a stupid gimmicky model name... Turns out, the "Cyclocross" is a good pair of casual pants with intelligent cyclocommuter-friendly features. Of course, one would never wear these for any type of cyclocross riding, but they work very well on the bike.

Great looking pants. As for function, the ankle device on allows one setting which is too tight for even my trim ankles.

The pants are great, but the pockets are a little small. But they are worth it
