They are totally unlined, but they do not feel like the cheap plastic "rain suit pants". They feel like good quality. The legs on these do not balloon; they have nice "regular" fit down the leg. Our kids are short, but these pantlegs aren't nearly as overly long as most. The waist is all-elastic and fairly trim fit (which we need). Slit side pockets & cargo pocket. Velcro to tighten on ankles. Bought to use for playing in lighter snow, keep dry w/o the bulk of regular snow pants. These would also be good for playing/hiking in rain or mud. I was nervous about buying these, but pleasantly surprised.
